The Hammers are ready to offload play-off hero Ricardo Vaz Te as they attempt to free up funds for more summer recruits, according to the Express.
West Ham’s co-chairman David Sullivan admitted last week that no more players will be arriving at Upton Park until players are sold in order to free-up the wage bill, which the club cannot increase due to the new Financial Fair Play regulations.
And Ricardo Vaz Te, who scored West Ham’s winner in their 2-1 play-off final victory at Wembley in May 2012, could one of the players allowed to leave Upton Park before next week’s transfer window deadline.
David Sullivan said: “Sam and I are working on new targets.
“However, the new rules state that if a team exceeds the new wage limit they could be hit with a points deduction.
“Players can only be brought in if there is money left in the wage budget. Any new signings at West Ham are dependent on other players leaving.
Hammers smashed their transfer record with a £15million move for Liverpool’s Andy Carroll earlier this summer and then returned to Anfield weeks later to secure a £6million deal for Stewart Downing, which all but emptied Sam Allardyce’s transfer kitty.
The Hammers have also signed defender Razvan Rat and goalkeeper Adrian on free transfers from Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Betis respectively.
