Manchester United have officially set off for their 2019 pre-season tour with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer choosing his 28-man squad that will accompany him to Australia and beyond.
The Red Devils kick things off in Perth, where they will clash against Perth Glory and then Leeds United. Following that, the team will face Inter Milan in Singapore, Tottenham Hotspur in China and finish the tour off in Wales against AC Milan.
After a 16-and-a-half-hour journey to Perth, the squad was greeted by a group of fans hoping to get autographs and photos with some of their favourite superstars.
Paul Pogba was clearly not in the mood after travelling for nearly a full day, and understandably so, as the Frenchman signed a couple of items before waltzing off away from the fans.
Fans on Twitter were quick to label the act as “disgustingly rude” and a “disgrace”, which leads us to ask, what on Earth are these fans talking about?
Even though they do have a point and Pogba did indeed look somewhat disinterested by the desperate fans, what’s he supposed to do? Stand there and sign an autograph for every person in the building? After a 16-hour trip to Australia, the only thing he should be thinking about is getting some sleep.
Some of the criticism levelled at Pogba’s attitude after his agent’s comments last week is fair, but we can’t help but feel United fans have lost a little bit of common sense attacking the 26 year-old for simply being human in this instance.
